today, when i was paying my first ever zakat al-fitr - the amil addressed me as kakak. ok, i may look old but he looks like soembody around early 20s. that sure count on why he chose kakak instead of saudari right? i mean, do i look that old?
well, anyway, i paid my zakat myself this year since my father asked me if i want to do it myself (sign of i do have to take responsibily here i read :P) so, i went to batu pahat, the nearest town (yong peng; where i live, is considered a small town - 'pekan' in malay?), offered solat zohr and 'asar in the town's masjid and there i submit my obligation - far, i might say just to do that. it was a good idea because i then did my 'itikaf also, the only time during this ramadhan. so not good of me.
my next zakat al-fitr insyaAllah will be paid in kuantan. yup, i decided to accept the job offer from IIUM and will be based in kuantan.
